LiitoKala Lii-500S Smart Charger – Capacity Testing · 4‑Channel Independent · Touch Control
⚠️ Important Notes – Read Before Use
This charger does NOT have an internal resistance test function. All displayed data (voltage, current, capacity, time) are for reference only and are not professional laboratory measurements. For precise battery capacity or internal resistance values, please use dedicated testing instruments.
This charger is designed only for:
1.2V Ni‑MH batteries (AA, AAA, etc.)
3.7V cylindrical Li‑ion batteries (18650, 26650, 14500, etc.)
DO NOT charge:
1.5V primary lithium batteries (non‑rechargeable)
3.2V LiFePO₄ batteries
3.8V IMR (high‑voltage) Li‑ion batteries
Charging any of these types may cause damage or safety hazards – always check the nominal voltage on your battery!
The charger may become warm during operation – this is normal. Avoid burns. Unplug the power and remove batteries after use.
For indoor use only, with the supplied 12V/3A power adapter.
🔍 Capacity Testing – Three Modes for Full Battery Assessment
The Lii‑500S excels at capacity detection, letting you evaluate the true health and remaining capacity of each battery through three operating modes.
Mode 1: CHARGE – Default Mode, Plug & Charge
When you insert a battery, the charger automatically enters CHARGE mode and detects the battery type (3.7V Li‑ion or 1.2V Ni‑MH), showing the recognised voltage on screen.
Default charging current is 500mA. You can touch the CURRENT button within 8 seconds to select 500/700/1000/2000mA (2000mA is available for a maximum of two channels simultaneously).
During charging, tap the 1/2/3/4 channel touch points to cycle through:
Voltage (V)
Charging current (mA)
Charged capacity (mAh)
Charging time (h)
When fully charged, the display shows “End” and the LED turns solid green.
Mode 2: DISCHARGE – Measure Discharge Capacity
Within 8 seconds of inserting a battery, touch the MODE point to select DISCHARGE, then choose the discharge current via CURRENT (250mA or 500mA; default is 250mA).
The charger discharges the battery at a constant current and records the discharge capacity (mAh) in real time. At the end, the final discharge capacity is displayed – a direct way to evaluate how much energy the battery can actually deliver.
Mode 3: TEST – Full Charge → Discharge → Recharge Cycle
This is the most comprehensive capacity test, automatically running three steps:
Charge the battery fully (using your chosen charging current);
Automatically switch to discharge (fixed 500mA discharge current) and record discharge capacity;
Recharge fully (using the previously selected charging current) and record charge capacity.
The entire process is fully automatic. When finished, the screen shows “END”, and you can view both charge and discharge capacity values for a well‑rounded assessment of battery performance.
💡 Note: In TEST mode, Ni‑MH batteries do not support the 2000mA charging option – choose 500/700/1000mA instead.
📊 LCD Display Readings – Data for Reference Only
The large LCD screen shows mode, voltage, current, time, and capacity simultaneously – clear at a glance.
The capacity reading (mAh) is a reference value calculated by the charger during charge/discharge. It is useful for comparing the same battery over time or for a rough estimation of its capacity grade.
However, please note: due to factors such as internal resistance, contact resistance, and ambient temperature, this value is not absolutely accurate. For scientific, quality‑control, or calibration purposes, please use a professional battery analyser.
When no battery is inserted, the display shows “Null”; if a faulty or reverse‑connected battery is detected, it shows “Err” and stops charging automatically for safety.
🔋 Automatic Battery Type Recognition · Default CHARGE Mode
Upon insertion, the charger automatically detects the battery voltage and displays:
3.7V – Li‑ion
1.2V – Ni‑MH
CHARGE mode is the default – no further action is needed to start charging (at 500mA).
If you wish to use DISCHARGE or TEST mode, you must select the desired mode by touching MODE within the first 8 seconds after inserting the battery. Otherwise, the charger locks into CHARGE mode; you can press and hold MODE to re‑enter selection.
🛡️ Multiple Safety Protections
Over‑charge, over‑discharge, short‑circuit, and temperature protection
Reverse‑polarity protection (shows “Err” if battery is inserted backwards)
0V battery activation (can revive over‑discharged Li‑ion batteries)
1.65V–2.2V voltage range automatically recognised as non‑rechargeable – charging is blocked
Smart –ΔV / 0ΔV cut‑off to prevent over‑charging
📋 Specifications

✅ Applications
Charging and capacity checking for batteries used in flashlights, power tools, instruments, digital cameras, etc.
Battery sorting, ageing assessment, and capacity degradation tracking
Home use and travel – four independent channels allow simultaneous charging of Li‑ion and Ni‑MH batteries
Reminder again: Capacity readings are for everyday reference only. For precision, use professional instruments. Always charge only batteries with the correct nominal voltage – do not charge 1.5V, 3.2V (LiFePO₄), or 3.8V (IMR) batteries.
LiitoKala Lii‑500S – making every battery’s true performance visible at a glance.
