Check operation:
Open the light emitting end of the gaze stick (if any) and place it 15-20 centimeters in front of the child's eyes to ensure stable and non flickering light. Encourage the child to focus on the gaze stick and instruct them to keep staring. Slowly move the gaze stick to the left, right, up, down, or diagonally, observe the direction of the child's gaze, eye movement speed, and amplitude, and pay attention to whether the eye movements are coordinated. After examining one eye, use the same method to examine the other eye.
Matters needing attention:
If the child does not cooperate, you can patiently comfort and guide them, or try to have an examination under the guidance of a doctor. If any abnormal eye movement or asymmetrical gaze is found during the examination, it should be promptly recorded and the child should be taken for further diagnosis and treatment.
