ANENG BT-171 is a portable 12V automotive storage battery tester. It adopts positive and negative test clips for connection, uses multi-color LED indicators together with buzzer alarm to intuitively display battery charge status and alternator working condition, and can warn of reverse polarity connection. Core Functionality

1. Battery charge level detection

The instrument visually grades the health status of a 12V battery through five levels: FULL/MEDIUM/LOW/EMPTY/DEAD. When the battery is low or faulty, it emits both audible and visual alerts. Without the need for complex readings, users can quickly determine whether the battery requires charging, maintenance, or replacement by simply observing the lights.

2. Generator Output Condition Monitoring

It can simultaneously monitor the output voltage status of the vehicle's generator, distinguishing between normal output (GOOD) and high output voltage (HIGH), facilitating the troubleshooting of vehicle charging system faults and determining whether the issue stems from battery aging or generator power supply anomalies.

3. Reverse Connection Error Prevention Reminder

If the positive and negative clips are connected in reverse during wiring, the instrument will trigger a "REVERSE" status warning + audible alarm to prevent damage to the instrument or battery caused by incorrect polarity, thereby reducing the risk of operational errors by beginners.

Instructions for use and operation

1. Confirm that the battery to be tested has a 12V specification, and connect the red test clip of the instrument to the positive pole of the battery and the black test clip to the negative pole of the battery; If the reverse instrument is connected, it will trigger a reverse alarm, and the clip needs to be replaced and reconnected.

2. After the wiring is stable, observe the multi-color LED indicator light to light up the gear, and compare the status to determine the battery level and generator operating conditions.

3. When the indicator light is in the LOW or DEAD position, prioritize charging the battery before retesting; If the retest still shows DEAD, it is recommended to have the battery health checked deeply by auto repair personnel.

When checking the status of the generator, the GOOD/HIGH indicator light can be observed while the vehicle is idling to determine if the charging system is abnormal.

Usage Precautions:

1. Do not touch the probes directly with your hands to avoid electric shock and ensure personal safety during testing.

2. Before use, inspect the test probes to ensure there is no damaged insulation or exposed metal.

3. Do not use the current and voltage ranges interchangeably to prevent damage to the instrument.

4. It is best to remove the batteries when not in use for a long time to prevent battery corrosion of other internal components of the instrument.
