The R180 Ultra is engineered specifically for lightweight road bicycles. To achieve its ultralight construction and the structure has been optimized for pure road riding.

Maximum combined weight of rider and bicycle: 80kg.

This model must not be used when the combined weight exceeds 80kg. It is not suitable for gravel bikes, mountain bikes off-road riding jumping or other high-impact applications. If your total riding weight exceeds the limit please select another GOLDIX hub model.

FREEHUB COMPATIBILITY

ROAD HG: Compatible with most 8–11-speed HG-type road cassettes.

ROAD XDR: Compatible with 12-speed XDR-type road cassettes.

30T HELICAL ALLOY RATCHET

The dedicated 30T helical aluminum-alloy ratchet is designed to reduce unnecessary weight while providing responsive engagement and efficient power transfer. Its optimized structure produces a more direct pedaling response for lightweight road-bike applications.

DLC-COATED SURFACE

The ratchet surface features a DLC diamond-like carbon coating. This coating combines high hardness low friction and strong wear resistance helping the ratchet maintain smooth and reliable operation during normal road riding.

DIRECT POWER TRANSMISSION

The optimized ratchet structure eliminates the conventional separate ratchet-ring design. This provides a more direct transmission path helping reduce power loss and improve pedaling response and efficiency.
