Product Description

e-PTFE: The unique structure of the fabric is made of two different substances. One is that the e-PTFE film is waterproof. There are 9 billion tiny pores in a square inch of film. And a drop of water is 20,000 times larger than these tiny pores, and water can't pass through them. In stormy weather (snow) can still resist the entry of rain (snow), to be 100% absolute and then each micropore is 700 times larger than the human body sweat molecules, sweat can easily pass through the fabric.

Thinsulate™ (THINSULATE ™) is a 3M company registered thermal material trademark, is one of the thermal material brand proposed the concept of light and thin warm, was born in 1978 in the United States, designed for the United States Marine Corps thermal clothing design and development, 1988 into the civilian market, many times sponsored the Winter Olympic Games and the World Cup ski race. After entering China in 2002, it became a thermal material designated for use by the national Antarctic expedition.

A: Generally speaking, when it comes to items like shirts, button-up jackets, raincoats, and coats, we determine the size based on the bust measurement. When the chest measurement is appropriate, the coat will fit well. As for the sleeve length, our size chart measures from the back neckline through the shoulder to the cuff.

B: When it comes to pants, the key factor is the waist size. Once the waist size is appropriate, the pants will fit well! The waist measurement should be taken from the waist of the pants you are currently wearing that fit you well. We often fail to measure our own waist accurately because we always have a protruding belly, and the waist measurement of the pants we wear might be below the protruding belly. Thus, it might be difficult to get an accurate measurement of the waist. Therefore, it is better to measure the waist of the pants that fit you well at the moment! And we measure the length of the pants by taking the inner length!

THINSULATE Tips:

1. Why is the THINSULATE so thin yet so warm?

The truth is very simple. All insulation materials rely on the air retained inside their fibers to keep warm, and the more air retained by the fibers, the less heat loss conducted, and the higher the thermal efficiency of the material. In addition, the greater the number of fibers in the same space, the greater the insulation layer formed by the surface area of the fibers to block heat radiation, and the warmer the material is. The THINSULATE is made up of 3M patented microfibers that are 25 times thinner than hair, which means they can pack more fibers into the same amount of space, while also reflecting more human radiation, so they are very thin but warm.

2. What happens when THINSULATE gets wet?

It will still be very warm, the absorption rate of THINSULATE insulation material in water is less than 1% of its own weight, and it is very easy to dry, so it is still warm even in the snow environment.

3. Is the THINSULATE equivalent to Gore-Tex?

No, they are two very different products. The THINSULATE keeps you warm, while the waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex is designed primarily for moisture and water resistance, and many times they can be used together.

4. Why are there different weights (types) of THINSULATE?

Different uses require different degrees of warmth (Chloe value), in order to achieve higher warmth, it is necessary to increase the thickness and weight of the material. For example, autumn clothing can use 40 grams of re-sherry, but polar expedition clothing should use more than 200 grams of weight.

5. How do I know the weight of the THINAULTE in my jacket?

3M works closely with manufacturers to ensure that each garment is made with the appropriate THINSULATE variety and weight, and if it is a specific shirt, you can contact the manufacturer. If you want to know more about the new sherry in gloves or shoes, you can check the new sherry tag, which clearly indicates the type and gram weight of the THINSULATE.

6. How to take care of the outfit with THINSULATE?

In general, machine washing, dry cleaning will significantly affect the performance of thermal materials. However, the test shows that the warmth retention of the THINSULATE insulation material decreases little after repeated washing. Clothes with new Shirley can be washed by cold water machine (soft wash) or dry cleaning, should use non-chlorine bleach, low speed dry, do not use steam iron, can be cold ordinary ironing.

Seven. What is THINSULATE made of?

In different environments, different types of New Shirley products can be selected to meet your thermal needs. Each type of THINSULATE is made from a blend of different chemical fibers to keep you warm in different environments.
