C02 Condenser Microphone Correct Usage Guide

Important Pre-Use Notice

This is a professional XLR condenser microphone. It cannot work directly with mobile phones, computers, or tablets via a 3.5mm interface. A separate audio interface (sound card) with 48V phantom power is required for normal use.

1. Connection & Power Supply Steps

• Connect the C02 microphone to the audio interface (sound card) with a standard XLR cable.

• Turn on the 48V Phantom Power switch on the sound card (the core step for sound pickup).

• Connect the sound card to your computer or recording device via USB cable.

• Note: Please turn off 48V phantom power before plugging/unplugging the XLR cable to protect the microphone core.

2. Correct Pickup Method

• This microphone adopts cardioid directional pickup. Please face the front side with the logo towards the sound source (your mouth).

• Best pickup distance: 5–15 cm from your mouth. Too far will cause low volume; too close will result in popping noise.

• Avoid fans, air conditioners, and strong wind to prevent wind noise.

3. System & Software Settings

• System Settings: Set your external sound card as the default input recording device (do not use the built-in computer microphone).

• Software Settings: Select the external sound card as the audio input source in OBS, recording software, or live streaming software.

• Gain Adjustment: Do not turn the gain to the maximum at once; adjust it gradually to get clear and full sound quality.

4. Common Troubleshooting

• No sound: Confirm 48V phantom power is turned on; check if the XLR cable is tightly connected; verify the correct recording input device is selected.

• Low & weak sound: Adjust the microphone facing and pickup distance; appropriately increase the sound card gain.

• Noise & current sound: Avoid winding audio cables with power cables; reduce excessive gain.
