I bought this speed sensor for my gravel bike because certain routes have spotty coverage, and I wanted instant, accurate speed instead of relying only on GPS. Unfortunately, the sensor hasn’t been reliable. It’s mounted on my front wheel, and my bike is fully mechanical, so I can’t think of anything that would interfere with it. It randomly reports triple the speed I’m actually going. I reached out to Magene and shared a comparison of my bike computer (with the sensor) versus my watch using GPS. It clearly showed a huge speed spike during a short test ride. They asked for a three-way comparison, so my plan is to record a ride using the bike computer with the sensor, plus my Garmin and Apple Watch both using GPS.
